Well it is World Card Making Day....so.... I have had these doyleys in the cupboard for ages and thought I ought to make use of one....I know many of you have punches too....so let's get making. Use punches or check out your kitchen cupboard and see if you have some doyleys in the back there for when you have afternoon tea..... I used glimmer mists on mine - but you can't see it in the photo... For each valid entry you make your name will be entered into a draw for a CBC CREW FABULOUS prize. While we love to see all your creations, please, to be fair to everyone, state if you are showing something you have made previously or done for some other challenge. Entries can be uploaded to the gallery or linked from a hosting site If you add your card to the gallery enter keyword CBCC105 and we'll be able to see the Entries Here

I have some doyleys somewhere, but don't have time to make any new cards today. However, this is one of the ones I finished off yesterday and as it pictures a teacup and a cake I hope it might count. I'm not really sure if I like this card very much - it is far busier than my usual style and I don't think I've got used to it yet! I've just spotted the bit where the background paper isn't fixed down properly, so I will sort that one out before the card goes anywhere. The background paper on the outside sections is from a recycled greeting card and on the central bit freebies from some magazine or other; the flowers are punched pieces which I have layered, the floral swirly bit is from when Kath let me loose with her Cuttlebug! and the other bits are some freebies that I acquired at some time. Funny that you should come up with this challenge Carolyn as we were having lunch at a National Trust cafe this week & as I lifted the bowls to clear them they were sat on those mini doylies which swiftly went into my handbag as I thought they may be useful for crafting Well recycling is always good eh? & these, which were clean having been inbetween a plate & a bowl, would only have gone into the bin! I was sure that I would find a use for them Love the shape of that card Linda & how you have decorated it

Beautiful cards, girls. I've got some small doileys lurking somewhere ... I'll have to unearth them and see what I can do with them.

Here is my entry for the challenge. I used a punch to make a doiley type effect. Attachment:
