June 2010 Newsletter

So how are you all, have you been busy in the garden rather than crafting - or a bit of both?  Father's Day is very soon, so you need to get your thinking caps on.... :)  if you make something please share it with us on the forum as we have a 'something manly' theme on the time to craft section.  I have to say my garden is looking good and the hard winter doesn't seem to have been a problem to the most of the plants - although I did lose a few.  So now I must sit down and get making a few cards - as I have used a few from stock recently.

My husband has taken back the Around Ampthill web site, he has updated the forum to the latest version and has been running a few quizzes on there - so if you are local why not stop by the forum and make a post.

Although I have not made much in the last month or so - I have put together some new pages to share.  As always a BIG thank you to everyone that kindly allows me to use their creations, and I am always on the look out for new ideas.

You can see all the new pages by checking the "what's new menu" at the top of each page on Crafts by Carolyn

Folded cards
A few more ideas on folded cards - with some gorgeous cards from Jake and Jackie, along with some from me.

Quick makes
I have added two new pages - making flowers and blooms, Clare and Sue have given us some great makes to inspire us.

Free digital mage
The second free digital image - did you use the last one?  This one is two young girls in pretty Victorian dresses, I have provided a couple of different formats so that you can resize it.

So far everytime I have used it I have just had to put some lace with it - I guess it is just that kind of image :)

Scrapbooking
Here is the second of the tutorial to get you started in scrapbooking - I hope that you have enjoyed them and give it a go.

Selling for charity
Jennie (The Artistic Stamper) has been over and collected loads and loads of craft items from Julie's husband, and is selling them for a Cancer charity, what a star.  She is starting to get things together and if you fancy bagging yourself some fantastic goodies, and helping the charity at the same time - log onto the forum to see what is on offer.

Time to Craft
We launched a new activity on the forum where we all craft to a common theme and share our makes, hopefully not as demanding as a challenge - just giving everyone a chance to share - not just cards any crafty makes.  A piece of jewellery, some cross stitch or even a cake who knows - whatever fits the theme :).  We always 'scale' things down for the summer months as I know crafting takes a back seat for many of you.

Forum
The forum is busy as usual - and it would be lovely to see you stop by and join in with the chat on there.

Are you stuck with something and need advice, or want to know where the best place to buy something, JUST ASK whatever the question.  OR you can sheare your creations, and if you have not been making much just talk about your latest book that you are reading or what you watched on TV :)

Swaps
There is a regular monthly ATC swap - so if you fancy giving it a go check out the forum and the gallery to see what you have to do.

I have started a new 'chinese whisper' swap - always great fun and you only have to send a picture of your creation, so anyone can join in at a moments notice.  The swap is based on using a template that is passed down a 'chain' so that it gradually changes.

So if you want to have a go at something in a small friendly group - pop along and join us.

The Shop
I have removed the links to the shop now and a lot of the bits are packed away.  I do still have quite a few pewter charms and paper roses - amongst other things - so if you want something drop me an email.

Spread the word
The site had loads of hits the other day due to a mention on stumble upon - it was great to see people enjoying and sharing the site - so don't forget to mention it to your friends - you can always forward on this email to them.

Buy through Amazon - help support the site by clicking through for your purchase. It is free postage now as well - how easy is that :)
Make a donation
If you enjoy the site and want to make a donation you can follow the paypal links.  Or click through on the Amazon link when you send money on there the site gets a small commission.

So what else is on the site.....
As you know there are over 200 pages on the site now - so I am sure there is something that you have probably forgotten about - so don't forget to have a quick wander around help inspire you - how about the gallery or selling advice
