February 2010 Newsletter

We are already a month into the new year now, and I have not written a newsletter until now....where has the time gone - it will be March pretty soon.  So a little late I know but Happy New Year to you all.  Looks like everyone had snow somewhere in the UK, I hope if you were stuck you were warm and cosy and busy crafting :)

So will 2010 be another crafting year for you?  Or maybe things have changed and you are moving onto other things.  I hope that we can entice you back every once in a while...there will always be some crafting going on I am sure.  Thank you once again for the lovely comments that I get on the guest book, we have had some people stop by and let us know what they thought of the site - and that they are still enjoying the projects on the site.

The next card making event is Mother's Day, there are a variety of ideas on the site check out tags and templates and some printing.

I am always willing to 'publish' articles on the web site - if you want to share with the rest of the crafting world.

Spring & Birthday Celebrations
Starting on the 5th March, Sue will be putting together some challenges and projects, along with some quizzes and other things to keep us all occupied.  Sue has hosted several of these and they are always great fun.  Don't worry if you can't join in with everything, it will be lovely if you could join us just for a short while.

During March it will be our 8th birthday on the forum - how fantastic is that...the only reason it continues is due to the friendliness of the members and their willingness to share.

Craft Robo Projects
Once again I have been busy on the Robo, it has been given a new lease of life following Lisa's post on the forum, where she advised us that you can download the Silhouette software for free, and that it is an identical machine.

Some of the new things are also templates too - so don't worry of you do not have a Robo.

Scallops and borders - I have put together some scalloped tags that you can print and cut, along with some lovely borders.

Flip card - this is a template that you can cut by hand - or the Robo just makes it a little easier.

All about the Robo - there are often questions about the Roboand its capabilities - so I thought I would jot down everything that I know, I hope it helps - especially if you are thinking about buying one.

Happy birthday pop up card - I must do a few more of these they are just a little bit different.

Finally I have had a little move around to make way for all of the new pages and have split the Robo menu into two - I hope you can find everything.

Folded cards
It makes a change to attempt a card that folds a little different so I am going to put together a few pages featuring these type of cards, there are already some on there - so have a look through - I have put them all together in their own section now...do you have something to share?  I will put up the pages during the birthday celebrations, so check back then.

Events
There are lots of crafty events this spring, I have added a lot to the calendar - are you planning to make a visit to one? Don't forget that Tesco vouchers can be used for some of the shows...better than just spending it on food!

The Shop
I have decided that I will close the shop at the end of March...possibly a little sooner, and I have started selling off various items at 50% off.....not long to go now - I need to clear out the space as I need to redecorate and move rooms...so I need help!

The automatic link to Paypal has stopped working.  BUT please note you can still pay me by Paypal, you just need to follow the links at the end, and just add you order number.

The site will still continue as normal along with the forum and all the other things - it will be just the shop.  I won't be taking sponsorship money, but would love some small businesses to join us on the forum, I have added guidance on the forum what you need to do.

Grungepaper flowers
Jennie has put together a lovely project on making flowers from Grungepaper, she first featured it in her blog.

Swaps
There is a regular monthly ATC swap - so if you fancy giving it a go check out the forum and the gallery to see what you have to do.  We are just do a 'chinese whisper' swap - always great fun and you only have to send a picture of your creation. So if you want to have a go at something in a small friendly group - pop along and join us.

The forum is busy as usual - and it would be lovely to see you stop by and join in with the chat on there.
